How the CAFE Award Works

What does a $36.6 million state award actually mean? Where does the money come from, when does it arrive, and who makes it possible? We made a short video to explain.

The State awarded the Montclair Public Library $36.6 million for our renovation. A lot of you have asked us what that really means, and the answer is a little more interesting (and more complicated) than a big check in the mail. So we made a short video, about two and a half minutes long, that explains it in plain terms: what the award really is, when the money comes, and why the Township and our philanthropic community are such important partners in making this renovation happen.

How the CAFE award works — a plain-language explainer (about 2½ minutes).

We hope you'll take a few minutes to watch, and pass it along to a neighbor or friend who has wondered how this works.
